The 1715 Treasure Fleet was a Spanish treasure fleet returning from the New World. In the evening of July 30, 1715 - only seven days after departing from Havana, Cuba - 11 of the 12 ships  of this fleet were lost in a hurricane near present day Vero Beach, Florida. Around 1000 sailors perished together with almost all the treasure that was shipped. The lost gold and silver attracted many people, including famous pirates like Blackbeard, Black Sam Bellamy and Henry Jennings. Due to its interesting history, artifacts from the 1715 Fleet are highly demanded these days.
