This coin right here is the definition of Spanish Treasure!

This magnificent gold coin is the largest circulated gold piece produced by the Spanish Empire! Known as an 8 escudos, this coin was struck at the Lima, Peru mint in 1705, and 10 years later lost to the sea! This 8 escudos was recovered from the 1715 Fleet shipwreck sites off the East Coast of Florida!

This coin boasts a few features that set it above the rest. Weighing in at a full 26.93 grams, and showing off a predominately centered strike on either side, this 8 escudos is stunning.

Flipping the coin to the reverse you can see it was struck with perfectly to see the cross/reverse aligned exactly as it should. Many of these coins show signs of a double strike, and this one shows very little in a couple places.
