If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you know just how much I love Spanish Colonial gold cobs. The uniqueness, the luster, the history; I can’t get enough!
This beautiful specimen is a Colombian 2 escudos struck sometime between 1700-1714 and was lost to the seas aboard the 1715 Fleet shipwrecks. 
What drew me to it initially is the gorgeous heart shape! Occasionally, these small cobs were stuck on a non-circular planchet that left the cob with a neat little shape like this heart. 
Wrapped in 18k yellow gold and ready to be worn, this beauty will be listed on the website here soon.
