The Hollandia was a Dutch East Indiaman which sank in 1743. The reason for her sinking is still a mystery, although from correspondence between Batavia and Amsterdam we know that she was for some explicable reason north west of the Isles of Scilly having been blown off her course by contrary winds. The remains of the Hollandia were discovered in 1971 by treasure hunter Rex Cowan.
